Website or landing page: what a small business should choose

How a landing page differs from a multi-page website, when one page is enough, when you need a full site, and what it costs.

The first question a business owner asks before launching a website: one page or several sections? Both options are good — just for different jobs. Let’s look at how they differ and how to pick yours without spending more than you need.

What a landing page is

A landing page is one long page that leads the visitor to a single action: leave a request, book, call. It tells the story step by step — the offer, benefits, prices, reviews and answers to common questions — with a form at the bottom. Nothing that distracts from the main point.

What a multi-page website is

It’s a site with several sections: a separate page for each service, “About us”, contacts, portfolio, sometimes a blog. Visitors choose where to go and can dig into exactly what interests them. This kind of site presents a company with several lines of work much better.

When a landing page is enough

  • you have one main service or product;
  • you’re running ads and want people from the ad to land straight on the offer;
  • you need to test a new direction quickly before investing in a bigger site;
  • you’re promoting an event, a sale or enrolment for a course.

A landing page is easier to maintain: one page, one scenario, and it’s clear what works and what doesn’t.

When you need a full website

  • you offer several services, and each needs its own description, prices and examples;
  • customers search for you on Google using different queries — it’s better to have a separate page for each;
  • you plan to run a blog or publish useful materials;
  • you want to show the whole company: team, history, certificates, portfolio.

A simple rule of thumb: if your business can be honestly described on one page, start with a landing page. If it takes five different stories, you need a website. And a landing page can later grow into a full site without starting from scratch.

What every option should have

  • Thoughtful design. Not “pretty for the sake of pretty”, but clear enough that a visitor understands your offer in a few seconds.
  • A mobile version. Many visitors open the site on a phone, so buttons, text and the form must be comfortable to use there.
  • A lead form that goes straight to Telegram. The request reaches you or your manager instantly — with name and contact, no inbox to check.
  • Basic SEO. Settings that help Google understand and show your site properly: headings, page descriptions, fast loading.
  • Everything in your name. The domain, hosting and code should belong to you, not the contractor.

What it costs and how long it takes

With ORBITA, a website or landing page starts from 9,000 ₴ and takes 1–2 weeks. The price includes design, a mobile version, a lead form sent to Telegram and basic SEO. The final cost depends on the number of pages and features, but we fix it in the contract before work starts — it won’t grow along the way. After launch you get access to everything: domain, hosting and code.
